After a rooftop conversation with Johnny Silverhand where he asks V what they want to do, the game presents four standard options. If you wait for roughly five minutes without selecting any of them, a fifth option appears: ‘Let’s do something crazy.’

This option triggers the ‘The Sun’ ending path, where V and Johnny assault Arasaka Tower alone with no backup and a frontal assault strategy that anyone sensible would immediately dismiss as suicidal. Johnny remarks that it is the worst plan he has ever heard. V agrees. They go anyway.

The trigger for the secret option requires V to have improved their relationship with Johnny to a high threshold throughout the game — achieved through specific dialogue choices in optional conversations that span the entire playthrough.
