Pillars of Eternity: The Endless Paths and Od Nua’s Secret

Pillars of Eternity’s Endless Paths of Od Nua — a fifteen-floor dungeon beneath the player’s stronghold — was a Kickstarter stretch goal that expanded into the game’s most mechanically dense optional content. Floor fifteen, the deepest level, contains the Adra Dragon: a boss that most players discover is easier to resolve through dialogue than combat.

The dragon’s name is Llengrath, and she will release her hoard — including a unique weapon — if the player can demonstrate sufficient Lore skill and asks specific questions about Od Nua’s history. The lore required to reach the dialogue check is accessible through flavor text scattered across all fifteen floors.

Obsidian built a fifteen-floor dungeon whose resolution was available on floor one, for players who read everything. The dialogue check requires no prior fighting and can technically be reached immediately after acquiring the stronghold. Players who read the Od Nua flavor text from the beginning could bypass the entire dungeon — but would not know they could until they reached floor fifteen.

Found this by accident on my third run. Came here to understand what I was actually looking at. Great write-up.
